How to call for help

When calling 911...

1. STAY CALM
2. Wait for the dial tone. Dial "9-1-1," the rescue squad number.
3. Tell the emergency person what is wrong. SPEAK SLOWLY. GIVE YOUR NAME, ADDRESS, AND PHONE NUMBER.
4. DON'T HANG UP until the other person hangs up.

Parents should practice the above steps with their children on an unplugged phone.
