The National SAFE KIDS Campaign was developed in 1988 to reach children, parents, and caregivers to reduce unintentional childhood injury. The Campaign was initiated by the Children's National Medical Center in Washington, D.C., with major support from Johnson & Johnson and is the first and only nationwide childhood injury prevention program.
The National SAFE KIDS Campaign is made up of state and local SAFE KIDS Coalitions that share a common goal--to create safer homes and communities for children. As a result of this, Loma Linda University Children's Hospital has initiated the Loma Linda SAFE KIDS Coalition.
