Clinical Interest:
Dr. Kazanjian is a southern California native and completed his undergraduate and medical education at UCLA, earning his MD in 2001. He completed his seven year General Surgery residency at the UCLA Medical Center, including a two year fellowship in basic and clinical cancer research. He subsequently trained in Colon and Rectal Surgery at the University of Minnesota, the oldest and largest Colon and Rectal Surgery fellowship program in the country. Dr. Kazanjian is double board-certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery. He is Director of the Colon and Rectal Surgery Program at Loma Linda University Medical Center and Associate Program Director of the Surgery Residency. He has lectured at national meetings and is the recipient of several awards for teaching, research, and clinical excellence. Dr. Kazanjian’s clinical interests and expertise are Colon and Rectal Cancer, Minimally Invasive (Laparoscopic/Robotic) Colorectal Surgery, Transanal Endoscopic Microsurgery (TEM), Inflammatory Bowel Disease (Crohn's & Ulcerative Colitis), Diverticular Disease, and Anorectal Disorders (Hemorrhoids, fistulas, Fissure, Prolapse). His research focus is on outcomes and quality measures in management of colorectal cancer.
