Wayne K. Cheng, M.D. is a prominent, board certified orthopaedic spine surgeon with a record of clinical excellence. He is an associate professor and serves as the head of spine for the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is a principal investigator at Loma Linda University Medical Center for clinical trials in spine. His scope of practice includes cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine, as well as trauma. His clinical specialties are: state-of-the-art spinal technology, complex reconstructive spinal surgery, motion preservation technology/artificial disc replacement (cervical & lumbar), dynamic spinal stabilization, minimally invasive spinal surgery, advanced scoliosis treatment, trauma-related spine injury, and spine–related clinical research trials and genetic testing. Dr. Cheng takes pride in solving difficult spinal disorders and doing research to benefit or improve the quality of a patient’s life. He enjoys helping patients through surgical, as well as non-surgical treatments. Dr. Cheng completed a combined Spine and Neurosurgical Program in Adult Spine Surgery fellowship at Duke University Medical Center.
