John M. Chrisler, BS, LAT, MsT, C.St

Microsurgery Research Laboratory
Mr. Chrisler is the manager and instructor for the Loma Linda University Department of Orthopaedic Surgery Microsurgery Research Lab. He has his BS degree in bio-medical sciences from Texas A&M University, College of Veterinary Medicine. He received his training as a microsurgery technician (MsT) from St. Joseph's Hospital, Surgical Training Laboratory in Houston, Texas.
Mr. Chrisler is certified as a Laboratory Animal Technician (LAT) by the American Association of Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS), as a Surgical Technologist (C-ST) by the National Association of Surgical Technologists and is a past-president of the Society of Microsurgical Specialists (1995).
Mr. Chrisler and the Microsurgery Research Laboratory provide guidance and assistance in the development and performance of surgical research protocols for individuals within the various surgical departments at LLUSM as well as for several of the graduate programs for the LLU School of Dentistry.
Mr. Chrisler has been published as a co-author and research assistant for his contribution to both development and performance of these research surgeries for neurosurgery, plastic surgery, and the orthopaedic surgery department at LLUSM and with the division of endodontics with LLU School of Dentistry.
He also performs as a surgical technologist and assistant to the attending physicians of the orthopaedic hand surgery service.
