Research

The research department at the Center for Pain Management works daily to bring the latest in analgesic medications and pain related devices to our patients. All protocols are first approved by the Loma Linda University Institutional Review Board (IRB), which meets two times per month. All studies are then conducted by the Center for Pain Management under the guidelines of the sponsor, the FDA, and Good Clinical Practice. Companies and patients interested in working with the Center for Pain Management Research are asked to contact by telephone at (909) 558-6441.

At the Center for Pain Management we participate in a wide variety of analgesic related studies. These include postoperative pain, arthritis, neuropathy, cancer pain, headaches, and low back pain, etc. A summary list of recent studies conducted by the pain center may be viewed below. These studies have enabled our staff to advance the mission of Loma Linda University Medical Center. This includes continuing the healing ministry of Jesus Christ, "to make man whole," in a setting of advancing medical science and to provide a stimulating clinical and research environment for the education of physicians, nurses, and other health professionals.

The research department has been extremely successful in patient recruitment. We can provide rapid study startup, patient enrollment, and completion of multicenter and single center studies. Because of our affiliation with Loma Linda University Medical Center and Jerry L. Pettis Memorial Veterans Medical Center, in addition to numerous other clinics and departments, our staff is able to offer study participation to a large number of patient populations. All qualifying patients are screened and given the option of consenting to the study. Those who consent are closely monitored by our staff for the duration of their participation in the study.
