Welcome to the Center for Pain Management at Loma Linda University Medical Center. We are a fully accredited and staffed pain and rehabilitation facility located in southern California approximately 60 miles east of Los Angeles.
The Center for Pain Management is a specialty consultation service composed jointly by the physicians of physical medicine and rehabilitation (physiatry) and anesthesiology. At the Pain Center we believe that effective treatment encompasses both traditional and modern medical approaches, including physical therapy, exercise, and pharmacological intervention. (A complete list of treatments can be viewed on our services page). Because not all patients share the same symptoms, every patient's situation is analyzed and an appropriate therapeutic plan for their pain management is developed and activated. The patient's progression is monitored in either an inpatient or outpatient setting where appropriate changes to their treatment can be made. We treat approximately 250 patients a week in our clinic and see approximately 40 patients a day in any of our affiliated medical centers.
Scott R. Strum, MD, serves as the Interim Medical and Program Director of the Center for Pain Management. He, along with fellow physicians and staff members, works to bring patients the best care possible, including the latest advances in pain control. To help achieve this goal, the Pain Center has developed a fully staffed research division. Through this division we are able to stay on the cutting edge of the pharmaceutical landscape and offer these changes to our patients. Please visit our research page to learn more about the types of studies we participate in.
