Our department designates every Wednesday for didactic learning. Sample Academic Day Schedule

Resident Didactic Presentations - Weekly, a resident presents a 30 minute talk on history, anatomy, clinical scenario, or surgical approach.

Morbidity and Mortality Conference - Monthly, QI cases are discussed.

Neurosurgery Grand Rounds - The faculty and residents discuss interesting cases while reviewing films and clinical data.

Medical Student and Intern Teaching Conference - Senior resident gives the intern and medical students a conference on relevant topics.

Faculty Topic Review - a faculty sponsored conference where one topic/chapter of a book is discussed. Currently we are using Youman's Neurological Surgery, 5th Edition, H. Richard Winn, editor-in-chief. 

Rotating Conference - rotating conferences that will be announced prior to each week. For example: Competency Workshop, ABNS Exam Review Quiz, Cadaver Lab, Neuropathology, Neuroradiology

Spine Grand Rounds & Journal Club - Residents participate in a joint spine conference with orthopaedics held at a local restaurant once per month

Neurosurgery Journal Club - A resident-sponsored journal club is held at a local restaurant.
