LLUHC Ophthalmology's 24 ophthalmologists and 2 optometrists and staff perform over 4000 patient visits per month at offices in Loma Linda, Riverside, and San Bernardino. Care is available in all ophthalmology subspecialties (Our Doctors). Unique strengths of our department include expertise in the management of eye trauma, pediatric eye disorders, corneal transplantation, complex cataract / intraocular lens surgery, and thyroid eye disease. Prevention of eye disease is emphasized through dietary and lifestyle modification. The Research Department is actively involved in the study of new treatments for macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal vein occlusion, and corneal disorders.
