Beaumont Healthcare Center Will Expand Access to Care

Loma Linda University Medical Center (LLUMC) and Faculty Practice Plan of Loma Linda University School of Medicine are collaborating with two well-respected health care providers on a new healthcare center in Beaumont that will significantly enhance the access to medical services for families in the Inland Empire.

The Beaumont Healthcare Center, in development with Redlands Community Hospital and Beaver Medical Group, will offer comprehensive, high quality medical services in a 90,000 square foot facility. “Upon completion, the Beaumont Healthcare Center will serve residents of Beaumont as well as the surrounding communities of Cherry Valley, Banning, Cabazon, Calimesa, Yucaipa and Oak Glen,” says Mel Sauder, JD, MBA, Senior Vice President for Healthcare Business Development, LLUMC. “Fifty percent of the patients in this area leave their community to access health care services elsewhere. The Beaumont Healthcare Center will allow many of these patients to receive care closer to where they live.”

The center will include a medical office building, outpatient surgery center, urgent care, a variety of medical and surgical programs, radiation oncology and a medical oncology infusion center, and ancillary services such as imaging, a laboratory and physical therapy. The medical office building will be populated by LLUMC faculty physicians as well as community providers. The majority of the available office space has already been committed. Plans call for completion by early 2009. The project is expected to cost $42 million.

“As a faith-based organization, LLUMC believes that development of this center is in keeping with our mission of providing quality health care to the residents of our local communities,” notes Sauder. “With the explosive growth in this area, the Beaumont Healthcare Center will bring specialized services and additional convenience to those patients who previously had to find medical care in adjoining communities, far from home."
