History
In the mid 1990s, Loma Linda developed a Mental Health Council to explore collaborations among mental health fields of practice. Over several years, designs and strategic objectives were developed for a behavioral health institute. The Behavioral Medicine Center purchased the adjacent plot of land, and a groundbreaking ceremony occurred on July 8, 2008 followed by a grand opening in April 2010. The Behavioral Health Institute is an extraordinary achievement for our community.
