The mission of the Behavioral Health Institute is to provide compassionate, community-oriented comprehensive behavioral health care through a collaboration of caring professionals. This mission is realized through integrated service, education and research in the pursuit of whole-person care.
We are focused on providing world-class education, research, and comprehensive clinical services through compassionate whole-person care.
In the mid-1990s, Loma Linda developed a Mental Health Council to explore collaborations among mental health fields of practice. Over several years, designs and strategic objectives were developed for a behavioral health institute. The Behavioral Medicine Center purchased the adjacent plot of land, and a groundbreaking ceremony occurred on July 8, 2008 followed by a grand opening in April 2010.
