Basic Arrhythmia Recognition and Treatment

This two-day class presents methods for recognition of normal sinus rhythm, uncomplicated sinus and atrial arrhythmias, AV blocks, ventricular arrhythmias and a brief introduction to artificial pacemakers. Hemodynamic effects and current treatment for each rhythm are discussed. Specific skills acquisition includes measurements of wave-form intervals and identification of dangerous, as well as lethal arrhythmias.

 

Target audience: All health-care personnel responsible for cardiac monitoring

Prerequisites/special instructions: First priority will be given to LLUMC nursing division employees whose job description requires BART and LLU students whose program requires BART for graduation. All others may register two weeks before class start date if space is available.

Cancellation, No Show, Refund Policy:
No refund if Staff Development does not receive cancellation notification at least five (5) working days prior to class. No refund will be provided if participant does not show up for class. In the event the program is cancelled, a full refund will be given. Refundable reservation deposits will be returned upon class attendance.
