This four-hour class is designed to introduce the pediatric health-care professional to stem cell transplantation. A basic overview of stem cell transplantation will be discussed during the class. The lecture topics include the purpose of stem cell transplantation, types and purpose of transplants, the phases of stem cell transplantation, nursing management, and potential complications at each phase.
Target audience: Nurses interested in entering the specialty of peripheral stem cell transplantation.
