Bereavement Training Program
(RTS, HOPES, CARE, SEASONS)

This two-day program is designed for health professionals who want to improve their skills in working with families who have experienced the loss of a child, adult, or significant other, whether suddenly or through long-term illness.  The program will focus on providing assistance at the time of the loved one's death, as well as follow-up care.  As bereavement support personnel you can help families move through the initial crisis toward reestablishing their life without their loved one.  This belief is the foundation for the bereavement Training Programs at LLUMC: H.O.P.E.S. (Healing of Parents Experiencing Sorrow), C.A.R.E. (Comfort and Recovery Experience), SEASONS (Sensitive Emergent Approach to Significant Others Needs in Sorrow), and RTS (formally known as Resolve Through Sharing).

Target Audience: Child life specialists, clergy, nurses, physicians, social workers, and others interested in working with bereaved families.

Prerequisites/ Special Instructions: No prerequisites required. Cost of program includes syllabus, RTS Bereavement Training Manual and continental breakfast. Lunch is on your own.

Cancellation, No Show, Refund Policy:
No refund if Staff Development does not receive cancellation notification at least five (5) working days prior to class. No refund will be provided if participant does not show up for class. In the event the program is cancelled, a full refund will be given. Refundable reservation deposits will be returned upon class attendance.
