This two-day course, H.O.P.E.S (Healing of Parents Experiencing Sorrow), C.A.R.E. (Comfort and Recovery Experience), and S.E.A.S.O.N.S. (Sensitive Emergency Approach to Other's Needs in Sorrow) is designed for health-care professionals who want to improve their skills in responding to families who have lost a child, an adult, or significant other. The program will focus on assisting bereaved families at the time of a loved one's death and on providing follow-up during the first year. A caring supportive health-care staff can help families move through the initial crisis toward reestablishing their life without their loved one. This belief is the foundation for the Bereavement Training Program: H.O.P.E.S. to C.A.R.E. to SEASONS.
Target Audience: Child life specialists, clergy nurses, nurses, physicians, and social workers who work with bereaved families in the pediatric, emergency and adult areas.
