Labor and Birth Nursing Core
This Labor and Birth nursing course series will focus on nursing assessment and care of the pregnant woman and her newborn in the Labor and Delivery setting. The course will address issues of antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum nursing care and triage as well as assessment of the fetus and the newborn during and immediately following birth.
Target Audience: New perinatal, obstetric, emergency department nurses, or other nurses looking for a refresher class or a different field of nursing.

Prerequisites/Special Instructions:
This course is a required co-requisite with the High-Risk Antepartum / Mother & Baby course.
A course syllabus will be provided in class. If an additional resource is desired, the following guidebook is recommended: Intrapartum Management Modules: A Perinatal Education Program (3rd Edition) by E. Jean Martin

Cancellation, No Show, Refund Policy:
No refund if Staff Development does not receive cancellation notification at least five (5) working days prior to class. No refund will be provided if participant does not show up for class. In the event the program is cancelled, a full refund will be given. Refundable reservation deposits will be returned upon class attendance.
