Palliative and End-of-Life Core Curriculum
This one-day course is designed to give the health-care professional a better understanding of what is meant by palliative care and how this type of caring relates to End-of-Life Care. An introduction to palliative care as well as important aspects of this concept will be addressed such as symptom/pain management, communication, ethical concerns, and special considerations in pediatrics and at the end-of-life. Various evidence-based program curriculums will be referenced such as the End-of-Life Nursing Education Consortium (ELNEC - Pediatric and Adult Palliative Care Training Program) and the Initiative for Pediatric Palliative Care (IPPC) Curriculum Care Program.
Target audience: Health-care professionals who work with patients who have cancer, blood, and/or chronic diseases.

Prerequisites/special instructions: Completion of Adult/Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Core or six months working with oncology patients.

No refund if Staff Development does not receive cancellation notification at least five (5) working days prior to class. No refund will be provided if participant does not show up for class. In the event the program is cancelled, a full refund will be given. Refundable reservation deposits will be returned upon class attendance.
