Care of the critically ill child holds special challenges for health-care providers. It is essential that nurses caring for this population of children are current and knowledgeable about scientific advances, interventions and technology relating to pediatric critical care. This five-day pediatric critical care class will focus on pathophysiologic responses of children to critical illness and state of the art management of these. Systems addressed include: pulmonary, cardiovascular, neurological, renal, endocrine, and psychosocial.
