Mobile Telemedicine Vehicle Unveiled
April 7, 2006 - Loma Linda University Medical Center unveiled a state-of-the-art Mobile Telemedicine Vehicle or MTV for disaster and emergency response. A joint effort between the United States Army and the DISCOVERIES project at LLUMC, the MTV is the newest and most innovative vehicle to be used in the field of emergency medicine. "This is a tangible way to illustrate our roots of compassion 'To Make Man Whole' as we move into the future," said B. Lyn Behrens, MBBS, president of Loma Linda University Adventist Health Sciences Center, at the unveiling event.

LLUMC emergency department performs first telemedicine consult
On September 3, 2005, we successfully used a T1 line to send patient information from the California Speedway to an emergency medicine physician consultant at Loma Linda University Medical Center to assess the need for immediate emergency department care via patient transport.
LLUMC represented at EMS competition in Czech Republic
Team Loma Linda placed 8 out of 28 teams with first place going to the Vienna Red Cross team from Austria.
