Loma Linda University Medical Center (LLUMC) offers the only Female Pelvic Health program of its kind in the San Bernardino and Riverside county area. The program provides women with cutting-edge treatments for a variety of pelvic and gynecologic disorders and promotes overall pelvic health by providing access to a wide range of gynecological and urogynecological specialists.

Conditions We Treat
Through our specialty training programs, we have cultivated a team of specialists with an unprecedented level of skill and knowledge in diagnosing and treating various female pelvic health issues.

Some of the conditions our staff is experienced at treating include, but are not limited to:

  • Pelvic pain
  • Abnormal bleeding
  • Cancers affecting the ovaries, vagina, vulva, uterus and cervix
  • Uterine fibroids, uterine polyps and ovarian cysts
  • Ectopic or tubal pregnancies
  • Endometriosis – the presence and growth of internal uterine tissues outside of the uterus
  • Interstitial cystitis – recurring pain or discomfort in the bladder and pelvic area
  • Vaginal and pelvic organ prolapse – the falling of pelvic organs due to weakened abdominal/pelvic muscles and ligaments
  • Recurrent urinary tract infection
  • Urinary incontinence – lack of control over urination or urine leaking
  • Urinary retention – an inability to fully dispel urine from the bladder

The experienced surgeons involved with LLUMC's Female Pelvic Health Program are national experts with specialized training to perform various procedures, including but not limited to:

  • Laparoscopic hysterectomies
  • Medically necessary cosmetic pelvic surgery such as when cosmetic surgery is needed to correct complications from past surgeries or extreme laxity due to multiple births
  • Robotic and minimally invasive surgery for stress urinary incontinence
  • Robotic and minimally invasive surgery for pelvic organ prolapse, endometriosis and myomectomies which are the surgical removal of masses growing in the uterus
  • Sacral nerve modulation for severely overactive bladders
  • Vaginal agenesis or hypoplasia which is the surgical construction of a new functional vagina for females born without one
