This program is designed to update anesthesiologists and certified registered nurse anesthetists by addressing changing concepts on recent advances in several selected areas that are pertinent issues relevant to contemporary anesthetic practice, including:
Regional - complications, multimodal postoperative pain management. An optional workshop will also be offered.
Cardiovascular - endovascular stents, cerebral/renal protection strategies, echocardiography.
Obstetrics - regional anesthesia/coagulopathies, maternal neuropathic/chronic pain disorders.
Perioperative - monitoring, transfusion medicine, patient safety, ambulatory anesthesia.
Economics - practice economics, future trends, governmental influences, the role of professional associations with CMS.
Each participant will be provided with a syllabus that has been prepared by the speakers and will serve as an ongoing reference.
Cultural and linguistic issues will also be addressed in one or more of the above lectures as appropriate.
