What Are Survival Rates for Women With Endometrial Cancer?
How well treatment works for women with endometrial cancer depends on the type and stage of cancer. These statistics are from Cancer Facts & Figures 2012 from the American Cancer Society. Here?s how it breaks out by stage:
The overall one-year survival rate (percentage of women living at leastone year after diagnosis) is 92 percent.
The overall five-year survival rate (percentage of women living at leastfive years after diagnosis) is 82 percent.
The five-year survival rate for women whose cancer is found before it spreads is 96 percent.
The five-year survival rate for women whose cancer is found after it hasspread, but it?s still contained near the uterus, is 67 percent.
The five-year survival rate for advanced cancer, which has spread far from the uterus, is16 percent.
Survival rates for African-American women are at least7 percentlower than whites for every stage. The reasons for this are not clear.
