Social workers understand the patient and family stresses which may occur as a result of a hospital stay or outpatient treatment. They work confidentially with patients, families and children to provide emotional counseling and social support. Social workers also provide information about community resources.
Appointments range from 20 min. - 1 hour during which you will sit with either a clinical social worker or a social worker intern who will provide emotional counseling and gather more information from you to help link you to helpful resources in the community.

Psychology Intern – Breast Health Center
Psychologists are available as needed to help patients identify and manage psychological issues related to illness and treatment of cancer. They are a resource for assisting with communication between family members/significant others, and/or members of the treatment team as well as assisting in developing mental, emotional and spiritual resources which help facilitate the process of healing.
Appointments can last up to 1 hour during which you will sit with a psychology intern who will gather information from you and identify areas where coping skills such as enhanced communication, guided imagery and problem solving can be used to help manage the emotional distress that may result from being diagnosed with cancer.
