Cancer Centers of Excellence
A total of 11 Centers of Excellence make up the new Cancer Center, with each of these 11 Centers providing for a specialized type of cancer treatment. Each Center relies on a multidisciplinary team to provide this specialized care including members of the following groups: medical, radiation and surgical oncologists; pathologists, radiologists, patient navigators, support personnel and robust clinical and translational research portfolios.
- Breast center - for invasive and pre-invasive breast cancers
- Gastrointestinal center – for esophageal, pancreas, liver and colorectal cancers
- Genitourinary center – for prostate and kidney cancers
- Gynecological center – for ovarian and cervical cancers
- Head and Neck center – for thyroid, throat and mouth cancers
- Hem/Blood & Marrow center – for leukemia and lymphoma
- Neurological center – for brain and spine cancers
- Pediatric center – for childhood cancers
- Skin/Melanoma center – for melanoma and skin cancers
- Soft tissue/Skeletal center – for sarcomas and bone tumors
- Thoracic center – for mesothelioma and lung cancers
