Program Information

The department of dermatology at Loma Linda University Medical Center offers a three-year fully accredited residency training program in dermatology. The residency program first began in 1988. Two residents are appointed each year through the National Resident Matching Program.

The department is committed to outstanding dermatology resident education. Residents see patients at the Loma Linda University Faculty Medical Office, the Jerry L. Pettis Memorial VA Medical Center, and Riverside County Regional Medical Center. Residents also conduct inpatient consultations at Loma Linda University Medical Center, Loma Linda University Medical Center East Campus Hospital, and the VA Medical Center, providing each resident with a rich diversity of patients. Extensive training in medical and surgical dermatology, as well as dermatopathology, pediatric dermatology, and cosmetic dermatology is emphasized.

Requirements for admission include a PGY-1 internship year at an approved medical institution. Applications are accepted only through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). The application deadline is October 31st of each year, one and a half years prior to the expected residency starting date. Once applications are reviewed, notification of offers for interviews will be distributed via email. Interviews are mandatory and by invitation only.

Thank you for your interest in the Loma Linda University Medical Center Dermatology Residency Program.
