Loma Linda University Medical Center and Children's Hospital

Loma Linda University Medical Center (LLUMC) and Children's Hospital (LLUCH) is a 797-bed tertiary care facility, and the only ACS Level I trauma center serving an area roughly equal to 25 percent of the State of California. The emergency department evaluates more than 60,000 high acuity patients a year. Of the patients evaluated, forty percent are children and are seen in the newly expanded pediatric emergency department, completed July 2002. The acuity of both pediatric and adult patients is high. As a tertiary care facility, LLUMC commonly treats patients with unusual or complicated medical conditions. LLUMC is home to an active transplant service, cancer center, pediatric intensive care unit, heart institute, and trauma unit.
