Faculty - Kelly Morton, PhD
Dr. Morton graduated from Bowling Green State University, Department of Psychology in 1992. She completed her doctoral degree in Life Span Developmental Psychology and now teaches and conducts research in health related areas. Her current project investigates the psychological and biological mechanisms resulting from religious beliefs and practices that impact health and quality of life. She has presented and published work on the effects of professional socialization on moral development in medical students and graduate students, the impact of cultural values on health decisions, use of complementary and alternative medicine, and predictors of health behaviors in patients with diabetes.
She has been working for the Loma Linda University, Department of Family Medicine since 1993. She is currently the Director of Research in Family Medicine, an Associate Professor in Basic Science in the School of Medicine, and an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology in the School of Science and Technology. Dr. Morton is a creative and innovative researcher and teacher. She encourages all who work with her to tenaciously pursue answers in research and clinical practice.
