Loma Linda University Medical Center (LLUMC) Heart and Imaging Center is the only Inland Empire facility of its kind to offer state-of-the-art 3Tesla cardiac magnetic resonance imaging, or 3TC-MRI. While widely available MRI systems have a standard magnetic field strength of 1.5 Tesla, the newest 3T systems have double the strength, achieving higher resolution images.
Our skilled physicians use this powerful full-body and cardiac scanning technology to identify potential problems affecting the body for a more accurate diagnosis. As a result, our patients leave with a comprehensive analysis of their condition and the knowledge it takes to make an informed decision about their subsequent treatment plans.
3T MRI System
Unlike less advanced technologies, 3T MRI’s high-field strength yields exceptional image quality and faster scanning time. The 3T MRI device is useful for general MRI imaging of any organ. With regard to the heart, 3T MRI detects the blood supply and distribution, heart muscle scarring, contractile function of the heart, coronary arteries and metabolism of the heart muscle. 3T MRI is also generally superior at lower magnetic fields.
As one of the most promising new disease detection technologies to date, 3T MRI ultimately enables our physicians to image difficult regions of the body in three dimensions with amazing clarity as well as greater precision.
