The Valve Clinic offers a comprehensive valve evaluation center where our experienced physicians evaluate optimal therapy and treatment to relieve symptoms and preserve the function of the heart as well as provide post-surgical surveillance on patients with severe valve problems.
The goals of the Valve Clinic include but are not limited to:
- Assessment of known or suspected valve problems
- Analysis of patients with valve problems
- Transesophageal echocardiography for evaluation of heart valves
- Supervision of patients after valve repair or replacement
- Evaluation of patients for percutaneous valvuloplasty

Valves maintain and direct the flow of blood through the heart. When valves do not function properly, a patient may experience symptoms that can limit their ability to function normally. Initial patient consultation is combined with a transthoracic echocardiogram (TTE). and other diagnostic tests such as Electrocardiograms (EKG), Cardiac Stress Tests (CST) and Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging Scans (CMR).
