Home health care
There's no place like the comfort and convenience of home for recuperation from illness, accident, surgery, or disability. As an alternative to extended hospitalization or nursing home care, Loma Linda University's Home Health Care provides specialized medical care in the home under the direction of the patient's physician. The program also incorporates the patient's family in a comprehensive program of care delivery.
Our team of qualified professionals and support staff works closely with the physician to coordinate and carry out a plan of care designed to make the most of each person's potential for recovery. We promote patient independence and participation in the planning of their care. Care is provided on an intermittent basis. On-call staff are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Referrals are accepted from any source, contingent upon available staffing. We bill Medicare, Medi-Cal, contracted health maintenance organizations (HMOs), and most insurance companies for payment of our services.
Loma Linda Home Health Care is licensed by the State of California and certified by the federal government as a full-service home health agency. It is also accredited by the Joint Commission for the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO).

Home Care Elite Member for 2 years running:
For the second year in a row, LLUMC Home Health Care is proud to be included in the 2008 listing of HomeCare Elite, a compilation of the 25% best performing home care agencies in the country. LLUMC Home Health Care has met or exceeded the national and state averages in all measured areas.
This honor is the result of an extensive quality improvement program and the hard work of our dedicated staff. Our goals are to provide the highest level of quality to our homebound patients, promote patient independence, and optimize patient outcomes by bringing the expertise of LLUMC into our patient’s home environment.
The recognition received from being part of the HomeCare Elite serves as a motivating factor for us to continue to improve our quality and outcomes, to prepare for the future of home health reimbursement and to serve as a witness of our mission to “make man whole” in the patient’s home environment.
About HomeCare Elite:
• The HomeCare Elite list was compiled and published by Outcome Concept Systems (OCS) which researched data published by The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) using three main criteria in their review; quality of care outcomes, quality improvement and financial performance.
• Quality of care is determined by evaluating each agency’s performance in the Home Health Compare (HHC) standards established by CMS. CMS continues to move towards a Pay-For-Performance (P4P) structure for home health reimbursement. Quality initiatives will play an important role in determining an agency’s financial reimbursement.
