The Joint Commission Certified Primary Stroke Center

The Joint Commission Certified Primary Stroke Center at Loma Linda University Medical Center provides patient centered care with a broad range of specialists in the treatment and management of stroke related emergencies and recovery.

Welcome

In October 2010, Loma Linda University Medical Center (LLUMC) received its Joint Commission Advanced Certification as a Primary Stroke Center, making it the only facility to achieve this certification in San Bernardino, Mono and Inyo Counties and one of the facilities located in Riverside County. This requires fulfilling strict standards of care and implementing protocols for treating stroke.  Now as a nationally recognized advanced stroke care facility, the hospital offers the best possible outcomes for patients suffering from a stroke.

The LLUMC Joint Commission Certified Primary Stroke Center currently uses a multi-disciplinary approach to stroke care, bringing together physicians from multiple specialties to provide comprehensive evaluation and management of patients with cerebrovascular diseases.
