Policies and Procedures

General policies and procedures, including overall and rotation-specific goals and objectives, are available in the Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program Handbook. Educational Funds

Due to the generosity of the Class of 1996 and their Legacy, incoming PGY-2 residents are given Rockwood and Green's Fractures in Adults and Fractures in Children. Other textbooks, including Hoppenfeld's Surgical Exposures in Orthopaedics and Campbell's Operative Orthopaedics, are often donated through alumni funds and other educational grants.


Vacation Policy

Residents are entitled to one week (5 days) of leave per 3-month rotation. Carry-over of time into the next rotation will not be approved except for unusual circumstances. The same policy applies to the intern. Leave is not to be taken during the first and last months of residency, except by special arrangements. Vacation requests are due by the 10th of the month before the beginning of each quarter. Requests are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Access the current resident vacation calendar
