Minutes From Session One - NICHQ/VONS Great Beginnings Program

  • Prework for today's session did not arrive yet, but will be available via the Extranet. Fran Snavely will send out information, as it is available.
  • Fran Snavely is team liaison.
  • Dr. Pradip Shah (Kaiser, Riverside) and Kathy Bird (Inland Regional Medical Center) agreed to be our team physician and nurse leaders.
  • Group started work on AIM Statement. Components to include: Desire for initiative for quality improvement for newborns
  • Share best practices on specific topics of NICHQAs a group, once data is collected, how can we (as a group and as individual facility) improve?

  • Parental feedback thorough such sources as childbirth education

Minutes From Session Two - NICHQ/VONS Great Beginnings Program

  • IEPQCC team members revised their Aim Statement. Fran Snavely will enter revised statement onto the Extranet.
  • Only a few member facilities have submitted data. Facilities were encouraged to assign a data entry person and hard copies of data forms were distributed.
  • All hospitals that have sent representatives to the October and/or November sessions were given a hospital number to use when submitting data on the Extranet.
  • Slides of Session One are available to Great Beginnings team members via the Extranet.
