Inland Empire Perinatal Quality Care Consortium (IEPQCC)
History and purpose
The Inland Empire Quality Care Consortium (IEPQCC) is a permanent subcommittee of Inland Empire Perinatal Advisory Council (IEPAC) and the East Desert Perinatal Advisory Council (EDPAC). IEPQCC usually meets on the third Tuesday of each month to share and work on perinatal quality care issues. The meeting usually immediately follows the Inland Empire Breastfeeding Coalition Meeting, so that interested parties may more easily attend both meetings during the same morning.
The subcommittee formed in late 1999 with the group focusing on identifying and removing barriers to exclusive breastfeeding in-hospital for those mothers in the region who chose to breastfeed. Improving exclusive breastfeeding rates continues to be addressed by the subcommittee. Recent and current issues addressed include the SIDS reduction and safe sleeping environments and best practices for promoting parent-infant attachment. The subcommittee members include the outpatient and public health sector, as well as in-hospital perinatal professionals. If you are interested in becoming a member of IEPAC/EDPAC and/or the IEPQCC subcommittee, you may obtain a membership application form online or contact:
