As an established center for research, LLUMC is the primary teaching hospital for Loma Linda University School of Medicine. It is a private, academic institution which has 647 beds and averages 21,000 admissions each year. LLUMC is a tertiary care facility with Level I trauma status, complete with two helicopter landing pads.

Located across the street from the Medical Center, the Faculty Medical Offices include facilities for multiple specialties and outpatient surgery suite that handles approximately 30 percent of all surgery done at LLUMC.
