As an established research center with state-of-the-art facilities and technologies, Loma Linda University Medical Center’s (LLUMC) Department of Plastic Surgery was designed exclusively by our plastic surgeons. Our renowned plastic surgeons are at the forefront in research within their respective specialties and have invested themselves to fostering excellence in healthcare and education.
The Department of Plastic Surgery at LLUMC offers a full range of breast reconstructive services and surgical procedures within a patient-centered environment focused on making man whole.
Implant & Tissue-Based Surgeries
Using cutting-edge surgical techniques, our plastic surgeons have extensive experience performing two major types of reconstruction: implant- and tissue-based surgeries. While implant reconstruction involves putting in an artificial breast mound, natural tissue reconstruction uses your own body tissue to recreate a breast. Both offer acceptable outcomes to restore your appearance and get back on track to a healthy life.
Stage 2 Reconstruction Procedures
Depending on breast reconstruction surgery type, recovery and healing, plastic surgeons may recommend secondary procedures to correct problems or improve the cosmetic result of the breast mound.
Follow along what our patients go through as they make a decision to replace a breast from cancer. From initial consultation to life after breast reconstruction surgery, you’ll get a better sense of what our patients are feeling and experiencing as they go on a personal journey to reclaim their bodies, minds and spirits.
