Didactic Curriculum


Preventive Medicine Grand Rounds

Mondays from 12:00-1:00pm at Evans Hall, Cutler Amphitheatre. Selected topics relevant to prevention and/or public health are presented by preventive medicine faculty and  guest speakers.  Senior residents will present their research projects at Grand Rounds at the completion of the PGY-3 year (PGY-4 year for Family & Preventive Medicine residents).

Preventive Medicine Teaching Conference

Teaching Conference is a weekly didactic conference for General Preventive Medicine and Public Health residents, Occupational Medicine residents and Family & Preventive Medicine Residents.  Conferences are scheduled on Fridays from 8:00am - 12:00pm at Nichol Hall Room 2011.  A faculty member will present a relevant topic each week, followed by a resident presentation on an assigned topic in the curriculum. Journal Clubs, Public Health Analyses, Senior Project Updates and Statistical Applications are some of the scheduled activities.  The goals of this conference are to::  1)build thinking complexity from primary/secondary levels to tertiary levels, 2)help residents prepare for boards, 3)develop teamwork, presentation skills and professionalism, and 4)construct a framework for population medicine.
