I'm very happy to be at Loma Linda University for my psychiatric residency. While I love my work I equally love my time away from work. During my days off I enjoy spending time with my crazy boxer, Bruno, being outside and rock climbing. I've also been trying to read the New York Times to aid in my transition out from my self imposed 4 year med-school bubble. The process has been challenging, and I miss my bubble sometimes, but I continue to forge ahead with my goal of once again being able to contribute something valuable to non-medical conversations.
I came, with my fiancé who is in Emergency Medicine, to Loma Linda from the state of Georgia. I am proud to be a member of this community and have felt welcome every step of the way. I chose Loma Linda because the Program Director is one of the most nurturing, enthusiastic and compassionate women I have ever met and these attitudes reflect in our faculty and residents. I am thrilled to have found such a loving surrogate family in my new home of Southern California. I enjoy nature, yoga, live music, and good conversation...especially all at the same time.
I feel that life is all about finding balance and growing community. When I am not working, I enjoy cooking and outdoor activities such as rock climbing and surfing.
