The Loma Linda University Medical Center (LLUMC) Transplantation Institute is internationally recognized as a transplant leader. Within our tertiary-care facilities, we offer sophisticated medical and surgical expertise and advanced technologies to perform even the most complex, multi-organ transplants. Our commitment to quality, research and personalized care comforts patients knowing that they can depend on LLUMC for support and guidance before, during and after their transplant.

Our Comprehensive Team Approach

At LLUMC, we offer patients a multidisciplinary team of experts who see patients with liver, gallbladder, heart, bone marrow, kidney, complex digestive tract and pancreatic disease. Patients receive a comprehensive assessment and care from a specialist that focuses on healing the body, mind and spirit. With years of clinical experience, research and education, LLUMC collaborates with specialty experts to provide specialized attention to patients to ensure they receive the best care possible.

Pre-Transplant Evaluation

The first step of the transplantation process begins with pre-transplant evaluation. During the evaluation, our highly specialized transplant team carefully examines your situation, providing recommendations to determine if transplantation is the best option.

You will meet with our multidisciplinary team, which includes a transplantation physician, nurse coordinator, social worker and dietitian. We also offer a financial coordinator to review insurance and financial information with you. Plus, you and your family members will attend an educational transplantation class.

The Transplantation Institute’s solid organ transplant programs are accredited by the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS), the program overseen by the federal government. While UNOS approval is an indicator of a quality transplant program, LLUMC transplant team’s skills and experience are demonstrated through our individual transplant center outcome statistics from third party resources including UNOS and the Scientiric Registry of Transplant Recpiets (SRTR).

Program statistics show our Transplantation Institute’s effectiveness in limiting our patient waiting list, transplantation, organ donation and matching donors. Use the resources below to compare how LLUMC Transplantation Institute stacks up to other regional transplant centers.
