Kahtleen Clem, MD, FACEP is Chair and Chief of the Department of Emergency Medicine. She is an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine and Pediatrics within the Loma Linda University School of Medicine.
Dr. Clem received her MD degree from Loma Linda University School of Medicine. She completed her residency in Emergency Medicine and served as Chief Resident at Loma Linda in 1993. Dr. Clem returned to Loma Linda to serve as Chair in 2007 after serving as the first Chief of the Division of Emergency Medicine at Duke University. While at Duke she started the Emergency Medicine academic and clinical programs. Dr. Clem is certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine. She is married and has two children.[Top]
Lance Brown, MD MPH is the Chief, of the Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Loma Linda University Medical Center and Children's Hospital and Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine and Pediatrics at Loma Linda University School of Medicine.
Dr. Brown graduated from Harvard Medical School. He completed his residency in emergency medicine with the Los Angeles County + University of Southern California Program. After residency, he joined a democratic medicine group. Subsequently, Dr. Brown trained in pediatric emergency medicine at Loma Linda University Medical Center and Children's Hospital. Dr. Brown is certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine. [Top]
T. Kent Denmark, MD is the Medical Director of the Medical Simulation Center and an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine and Pediatrics at Loma Linda University Medical Center and Children's Hospital.
Dr. Denmark completed medical school at Loma Linda University. He completed residency in pediatrics at Loma Linda Children's University Hospital, and then trained in pediatric emergency medicine at Loma Linda. Dr. Denmark is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in pediatric emergency medicine, and was the PEM fellowship director from 2002 until 2008. [Top]
Besh Rhyl B. Barcega, MD MBA is an Assistant Professor of Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Loma Linda University School of Medicine and has been a full-time faculty member since 2001
Dr. Barcega graduated from Loma Linda University School of Medicine in 1990 and completed her pediatric residency and pediatric emergency medicine training also at Loma Linda. She is currently completing a master's in business administration at University of California-Irvine. She currently servces as the medical director for the Pediatric Emergency Department.
Dr. Barcega is board-certified in pediatrics and pediatric emergency medicine. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American College of Emergency Physicians. [Top]
Grace J. Kim, MD is an Assistant Professor of Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Loma Linda University School of Medicine,and has been a full-time faculty since 1999. She is a graduate of Loma Linda University School of Medicine and has completed a pediatric residency as well as a pediatric emergency medicine fellowship at Loma Linda. Dr. Kim serves as the assistant residency director of the fellowship. Dr. Kim is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in pediatrics and pediatric emergency medicine and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and member of American College of Emergency Physicians. Tommy Kim, MD is an Assistant Professor of Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Loma Linda University School of Medicine. He has completed a sub-specialty training in pediatric emergency medicine and is finishing a second fellowship in faculty development, both at Loma Linda University School of Medicine. Dr. Kim has been a faculty member since 2005 with the Department of Emergency Medicine.
Dr. Kim graduated from Loma Linda University School of Medicine in 1999 and completed his pediatric residency also at Loma Linda. Dr. Kim is board-certified in both pediatrics and pediatric emergency medicine. Dr. Kim ia a fellow of American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of ACEP. [Top]
Lilit Minasyan, MD completed her sub-specialty training in pediatric emergency medicine at Loma Linda University School of Medicine in 2007 and is a faculty member of the Department of Emergency Medicne.
Dr. Minasyan graduated from Saint Louis University School of Medicine in 2001 and completed her pediatric residency Children's Hospital Los Angeles. Dr. Minasyan is board-certified in pediatrics and is board eligible in pediatric emergency medicine. [Top]
Ameer Mody, MD completed his sub-specialty training in pediatric emergency medicine Loma Linda University School of Medicine in 2006 and is a faculty member of the Department of Emergency Medicine.
Dr. Mody graduated from Albany Medical College in 2001 and completed his pediatric residency at Children's Hospital of Orange County. Dr. Mody is board-certified in pediatrics and board eligible in pediatric emergency medicine. [Top]
James A. Moynihan, DO is Assistant Medical Director in the Department of Emergency Medicine and Assistant Residency Director of Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Loma Linda University Medical Center and Children's Hospital. He received his medical degree at the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific (1996). Dr. Moynihan completed his residency in pediatrics followed by a fellowship in the Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Loma Linda University Medical Center and Children's Hospital (2002). He is currently the assistant medical director for the Pediatric Emergency Department.
Dr. Moynihan is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and American College of Osteopathic Pediatricians. Dr. Moynihan has conducted research on measurement of cardiac troponin for both pediatric cardiac arrest and respiratory syncytial virus, and the effect of palivizumab on the systemic inflammatory response associated with RSV. He has published the results of his research and lectured on these topics as well as other areas of pediatric emergency medicine. [Top]
Thomas Sherwin, MD, FAAP is an Associate Professor of Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Loma Linda University School of Medicine and has been a full-time faculty member since 1994.
Dr. Sherwin graduated from Loma Linda University School of Medicine in 1989 and completed his pediatric residency in 1992, also at Loma Linda University.
Dr. Sherwin is a licensed physician in the State of California and Nevada, and is board-certified in general pediatrics and pediatric emergency medicine. He is an instructor for Advanced Pediatric Life Support (APLS), as well as Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS). [Top]
Gail Stewart, DO is an Associate Professor of Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Loma Linda University School of Medicine and is a part-time faculty member of the department.
Dr. Stewart graduated from Michigan State College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed a pediatric residency and a fellowship in pediatric emergency medicine at the Children's Hospital of Michigan. Edward J. Vargas, MD is an Assistant Professor of Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Loma Linda University School of Medicine and has been a part-time faculty member since 2003.
He graduated from Albany Medical College in 1997 and completed a residency in pediatrics at Loma Linda University Children's Hospital. He then went on to complete a pediatric emergency medicine fellowship at Loma Linda.
Dr. Vargas is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is board eligible in pediatric emergency medicine. He also is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. [Top]
Kimberly R. Zimmerman, MD has been practicing pediatric emergency medicine since 1991. She graduated from The Autonomous University of Guadalajara School of Medicine in 1982 and completed a Fifth Pathway at Rush University Medical College in Chicago, Illinois. She finished pediatric residency at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in 1988 and fellowship in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles in 1991.
Dr. Zimmerman is board-certified in pediatric emergency medicine and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She is affiliated with Loma Linda University School of Medicine, University of Southern California School of Medicine, University of California, Los Angeles School of Medicine, and Sunrise Children's Hospital in Las Vegas. She works in four pediatric emergency departments in Southern California and one in Las Vegas.
Dr. Zimmerman is especially interested in educating her residents about childhood injury and violence prevention. [Top]
Cynthia Greber joined the emergency department at LLUMC in May 2004 where she serves as administrative assistant and fellowship coordinator for the division of pediatric emergency medicine. Cynthia has worked in health-care administration for more than 17 years. [Top ]
